Migiwa Ergonomic Swivel Thumb

The swivel thumb changes everything. Where a fixed thumb ring locks your hand into one position, the swivel moves with you — allowing your thumb to rotate naturally through each cut, reducing strain on the joint and letting you work longer without fatigue.

The KAI-KASHO Migiwa Swivel Thumb scissors bring this ergonomic advantage to the entry level of the KAI-KASHO range. Built from 9Cr18 stainless steel using MIM — Metal Injection Moulding — the Migiwa delivers the corrosion resistance, hardness, and edge retention of a professional-grade scissors at a price that reflects where a career begins.

Designed by KAI in Japan. Crafted in a KAI factory. If you cut eight columns a day and your thumb tells you about it, the Migiwa Swivel Thumb is where you start fixing that.

Your KASHO scissors are precision instruments. A simple daily ritual keeps them performing at their best.

Clean after every use. Wipe the blades clean after every client using a soft Kasho leather cloth. Hair residue and product build-up accelerate wear. A clean blade holds its edge longer.

Oil the pivot daily. Apply a drop of oil to the pivot point each day using the Kasho oil pen. It keeps the cutting action smooth and protects the steel against corrosion.

Check the tension. Check and adjust the screw tension before you begin. Correct tension reduces hand fatigue and extends the working life of the blade.

Store them properly. Store your scissors closed, in a case or holder, away from sterilisation liquids, perm, and colour solutions. These chemicals corrode even the finest steel.

Protect the blades. When cutting hair, avoid clipping on combs or slides — it may scratch or nick your blades.

Leave sharpening to the experts. Sharpening and servicing should be carried out only by a KASHO technician.

Precision tools require precision care — and the KASHO Ultimate Edge is worth protecting.
